Resealing the Van's Exterior
We recommend assessing the condition of the exterior of the van every 6 months, here is how to keep your van in top shape.
Over time, exposure to UV rays, rain, snow, and temperature fluctuations can cause the sealant on your campervan’s roof to crack or degrade. It's recommended to inspect your campervan roof seals every 6 months to a year, depending on your climate and how often you use the vehicle. If you notice any cracks, shrinking, or peeling in the sealant, it's time to reapply. Reapplying lap sealant is an easy DIY task and typically involves cleaning the old sealant, applying a new layer, and letting it cure to form a durable seal.
We recommend this self leveling lap sealant. Follow the instructions for application.
You will also need a caulk gun and a putty knife.
